Table of Forms—Conovowel Poetry

A conovowel alternates vowels and consonants. Technically, Y is considered a consonant when it makes the sound in "yo-yo," and a vowel at all other times. Like many of the forms found in Table of Forms, this technique was invented around 1995 by William Gillespie and the Travelling Portmanteau Lectures as a writing assignment for high school students.

Honorificabilitudinitatibus: a Sonata: a conovowel poem that is a serious theoretical treatise on patriarchal literature, whose title is stolen from Shakespeare, who stole it from somewhere else.
